The Circle Closes - [60] Neroon on Feb/18/08 @ 4:50 pm

have been through an interesting past few days.

My girlfriend and I are working through things. I don't know for sure how it ends. I do know I bear some ownership in what happened this past week/year and how things got to this point.

I am quitting WOW. Other than one half-hearted effort, I have not tried to move to another guild. I have not been on much, almost 2 weeks in the case of Neroon, and only a couple times as Mordacious in those past two weeks.

My time of playing games is at an end. It served a purpose, but it sucked away too much of my time and attention to the details of my real life. It's a great place to hide from the things that bother you in reality, to substitute in game success for real life achievement.

I have enjoyed my time, and the fun that I have had. I have enjoyed meeting all of you and the many friendships. I have had. It's been good. I even learned from the bad moments.

I can not thank all who have been a part of this adventure. You know who you are. Good luck and good wishes in the life you choose to lead. My subscription runs to 3/19, and I will be on to take care of some business and to say good bye to a few peeps. Feel free to contact me at michael@jardeen.com.

Awesome to hear from you as always Gkar, lets keep in touch, and let me know when you get a new mac so we can play Guild Wars :) DOh! nm

Gkar, It was a pleasure but rl is pretty cool too. If you apply the same determination you had in game to rl you will succeed. Like Foundation I am grinding at being a Dad. In fact I play ToonTown with my 6 year old son. It's like WoW for kids. But more important to me is that I am playing with family and the game isn't isolating me from the family.

Best of Luck

So February 14th was one hell of a shock. This past weekend Debbie and I are back together. She broke it off with the guy she started seeing after we had broken up. I'm feeling happy. Who knows what the future holds, but for now all is well.

I will be back on next week.....

Just kidding, no fraking way. I have lost 20 lbs, my blood sugar has improved, and life is better.

I hope you are all doing well -- peace.

Great news Gkar :)

Life is good on the outside, i must admit! Its amazing how good it can be when you redirect your interests non-virtual things.

Debbie and I got engaged in May. The wedding will happen when we get there -- perhaps in Paris!

I talk to a few players I know and stick to games that don't suck away my life. I sure met some great people and I have some great memories (can our first Ony raid when the eye agro'd her be topped).

Good times for sure.

I am also now half way to my thesis for a Masters in Project Management.

Busy times -- take care,
Michael
