Bloody Forests... - [60] Veldrin on Nov/07/06 @ 12:09 am

ell i *was* playing about as much as Proxim but then as i headed toward my computer one day and i got lost in "The Forest of Real Life" (might also have something to do with coming to blows with my father but we shant go there *coughs*).

Just posting to say that i'm still alive and well. Life's good and all that rot but I figure it's time to say hi to my guildies once again.

I see you're headed off to Lin there Russ wish i could join you but that's one place i can't go. Did everything i could to stave off filling the Foundation shaped guild hole that's in my heart but it just isn't working though i realize a hole it will likely remain.

BC looks to be leveling the field and the new honor system has "casual" merits. I'm coming back to WoW but i'll never be able to designate myself a raider and will pretty much pop off at the drop of a hat. The only thing i'll likely do is PvP my brains out as i simply cannot commit to schedules anymore. Lin had sieges but they were far more sparse and if the Chinese are still in control of the castles.. lol well no sieging. I hope you understand man.... nothing personal. No way i'm doing the grind again and i'm definately not sacrificing my soul on the alter of another MMO but i love the people (always did and always will) so if your around you just might catch me blowing some poor Horde sap to pieces.

Say hi to everyone on the Lin end for me. If Prox is still around i just might nab him for one of my oh so infameous schemes hehehe.

Oh one more thing guys... stay frosty.

Awesome to hear from you man :) Had tried numerous times to fid you online in wow .. no go. Ya Lineage is still chinese controlled etc ... but ... its not so bad, I have no intent to siege this time around. (yet at least) I am just shy of 50, so I am all gung ho on that.

Lineage now has LOA rules on all servers .... I repeat, LOA rules on all servers ... prince braves and only 1% experience loss on deaths are the highlights for me. Lots of new magic in game now for all classes too, IMHO its worth reactivating for a month to check out. 15 bucks to reminisce isnt horrible.

I'm focused on cash and bosses this time around. Karian and I are working together in pledge on some of those goals. After 50 I will begin recruiting slow and steady like we did in the old days. Being that Ken specifically is probably the lowest population of all 3 us lin servers (about 250 average on compared to LOA's 1000) ... i expect the bosses to be a bit easier to find. They just had a halloween event that was liek the 2002 Heine event ... mad loot for everyone .. yes, the economy is screwed for 2 years as well.

More to come later, so far I am loving lin again ... its got that social element that I missed so far about our old pledge ... something you dont find in wow, and since i'm also not playing 5+ hours at a time anymore ... it fits my schedule.

Ah i hear ya man... i hear ya. I think the real problem and the one that i absolutely hate to admit was i was trying to hide Sol's gimpness a little too well. I think it ended up working as the last i recall he was just under level 48 (after dying 2 or 3 times to lag) had -30something AC, a +5 Yumi, and a paltry 1.5 mil adena to his name which only came from *VERY* generous guildies. If that wasn't the utter gimp of Lin i don't know who was. Seeing as how Lin was fairly elitest (you have to admit levels above 50 are an *extreme* advantage) and my extremely competative nature it just didn't jive with me being bottom of the totem pole for the better part of 2-3 years. The worst was feeling like i was dragging everyone else down. I've kept up a little with Lin though and i'm sure the changes are pretty nice (Level 10 spells for Mages whoa there's a concept!) I doubt i'd actually level any of my characters.

That's not to say you might not find me around Lin but i'd use it more like a chat room/keeping up with long lost friends. Lin never liked me with drops either. It probably took me the better part of a year to simply get a Zel. I think my guildies had to compensate for my character more then i care to admit. Still by far the most fun i had was using Rie's CoI to be invisible healer follower of 1337ness. So there might just be one last item i'd love to get my hands on... ah who knows. Simply dropping Mirages' Knight's name was near enough for me. A practical blood bond when it concerns those two as they could ask for anything and if i could give it i would =). Lineage's strongest suit was the cool community as far as i'm concerned though and i'm sure it still has plenty of pluses but i'm not sure it'll jive with how casual i'm going to be.

BC on the other hand has tangible rewards for time invested whether it's half an hour a day or 9 hours a day. The new Arena in BC will be more focused on good players teaming up with other good players to get epics key phrase: *on par with raid loot (though PvP oreinted)* and achievable at a reasonable pace (no more stupid Grand Marshall grind of death). Teams get matched up to other teams based on win to loss record or rather skill. You only need to play a minimum of 10 matches a week and most last less then 5 minutes long. The best team gets the loot the fastest but it has been stated by a blue that even the worst team will eventually get the epics. The single best concept i have ever heard i say. With gear being "normalized" due to 10 more levels of play, more stamina on gear as well as the new resillence stat, abilities for all the various classes that are looking really good, Warlocks having *three* viable trees rather then 2 and instances being more focused on 5 and 10 mans things are really looking up (instance max in BC is 25). It's starting to look more and more like the casual game it started out being. It's a damn shame our guild had to suffer before Blizzard actually realized this.

Anyways i'll try to keep in touch regardless. Funny thing though your the first to hear i'm coming back boss ;).

I have considered trying Lineage again, but still not sure. If you make a guild w/ Kari, Pesh, let me know; I just might come home to heal, as a true Medic does. :)

Tsep is still leading our old pledge atm, and karian is in it ... though I'm not making a fulll pledge until Tsep 50 ... i started at 49.63% and am currently sitting at 49.75% even after 5 1% deaths ... leveling is sooo easy now, and there are lots of things to spend your money on. I never played LOA but I'm loving the ruleset so far.

I went to Pirate Island this evening with PITA (who says hi to rie btw) ... we got ransacked on level 3 of the caves but it was a blast :)

You are more than welcome to come join into pledge early, before I hit 50. Same for any other eldre-foundation lineage folk who'd be interested. I've had a ton of folks asking me to bring the pledge back from wow. There are so many places to group hunt now its sick. And very little competition for bosses ... course they are a little tougher now.
